A Domain name is the internet name for your site. The Domain name is becoming more important as people use the internet more often and just type in the name to get them straight though to the site that they want. Therefore it is important that you have a name that people can remember - such as hortiweb!

A domain name has yourname with .co.uk, .com etc on the end. This relates to where the name is registered. For example .co.uk should be a UK company. However different countries have different criteria for using these extensions and some are more lax than others. Here in the UK anyone can register any .uk name except for .ltd.uk which is reserved for limited companies.

Non UK names. We can also register the American .com, .net etc names which are also commonly used by UK companies and we would strongly recommend that you register the equivalent .com name if it is still available even if you already have the .co.uk version.For a memorable domain name we can now also register .tv names
